Adware... its advertisment software, a rather annoying form of direct advertising that is unique to the computer age. It tends to show its ugly head at the most inappropriate moments too- usually right when you've gotten to the good part of the latest youtube video your friends have told you about. So, how exactly do you get rid of this pest? No, spraying your computer with bug repellant won't work and probably isn't safe anyways. What you need is a good adware removal program!
I've spent the better part of the last week testing, torturing and reviewing adware programs (Yes, I actually did "intentionally" infect my mule work computer with adware). Personally, I would have to say that my favorite is a little program called, appropriatly enough, Adware Patrol. The interface is incredibly simple and easy to use, it doesn't use up lots of memory on your computer and its amazingly effective in removing about 99% of the adware I could throw at it. (Thats not really fair of me to say as the 1% it failed at contained a virus that somehow sneaked in too-always have a good virus checker!). Honestly though, for my money, this program is a winner.
